The Treasures Within

$90.00

This painting was inspired by the Japanese art of Kintsugi, a practice by which broken pottery is mended with the use of gold. The gold draws attention to the fact that the vessel was broken and instead of being thrown away, the new flaws and imperfections are celebrated. I love this concept. We all have parts of us that have been broken and torn over time, just like the geology of our planet. I used bronze in my painting to emulate how life itself creates and celebrates its “flaws” by creating little treasures in the earth’s crust. The painting measures 6 × 9 inches and comes in an 11 × 14 inch mat.

*** Please note that I am not a professional framer. At this point, the mat is to help with shipping and presentation more so than anything else. But, I do hope that this little courtesy I’m offering (for the time being) will make it easier to frame. (I used the ArtStage app to stage my artwork in rooms. The artwork is not sold with a frame.)
